The Green Files > Where are the Big Conservation Groups on CAFTA?
[sustainablog] In response, I told Michael that I hadn't followed the CAFTA debate nearly as closely as I wanted to, and it's amazing how our leaders in Washington have a hard time grasping the idea that doing the same thing over and over in expectation of a different result is a form of insanity. I agree completely that the silence of groups like the Nature Conservancy and the World Wildlife Fund doesn't reflect well on them, as the environmental prices we've paid for previous "free trade" agreements have been immense.

[Freedomandprosperity.org] The Market Center Blog -- April 2005 Archives: The Mises Institute Blog has an excellent posting about the wretched impact of the withholding tax. By taking money out of each paycheck, politicians have put in place a system that anesthetizes taxpayers and facilitates bigger and more wasteful government:

Here is some of whats coming, what will be happening in our country in the next few years:_____ The theft of all social security funds, to be transferred to those who control money, and the increasing destitution of all those dependent on social security and social welfare programs._____ Rising numbers of uninsured people in this country that already has the highest percentage of citizens without health insurance in the developed world.______ Increased loss of funding for public education combined with increased support for vouchers, urging Americans to entrust their childrens education to Christian schools._________ More restrictions on civil liberties as America is turned into the police state necessary for fascism to work______ More imperialistic invasions: of Iran and others, and the construction of a huge permanent embassy in Iraq.____________ More restrictions on speech, under the flag of national security._______ Control of the internet to remove or cripple it as an instrument of free communication that is exempt from government control.
[Dominionpaper.ca] Dominion Weblog: International News: The State of the News Media bodes well for the Dominion, in a depressing way. Trends they identify include deinvestment in newsrooms, overworked reporters channeling PR instead of doing journalism, and "the only sectors seeing general audience growth today are online, ethnic and alternative media." Best two out of three.
[Fbesp.org] Deviant Synapse: How pathetic a human being do you have to be to go home and cry over the thought that Rafah won't get to celebrate Madison as a "sister city," and how bad all those terrorists in Rafah must feel about that?Jakester chimed in with: "you got to give the l3er's credit for some really stupid, insipid comments!" (Can anyone tell me what "l3er's" are?)
