[Bird's Eye View] I've seen great flocks of gulls in the Nevada desert (Mono Lake is nearby.) It seems that the gulls are expressing their annoying side in Sheboygan. I have neither advice nor any strong opinion on the standoff in Wisconsin, but I am much taken with the interesting "internal" rhyme..."annoyin' in Sheboygan."

[Thebirdseyeview.net] Bird's Eye View: The Mercy Center is a wonderful local resource in the Bay Area for retreats, spiritual direction and some quiet time, but it really isn't what most folks think of when you say "I'm spending the weekend at a convent." The Sisters of Mercy are a particularly busy order, the few sisters you bump into at the Center are likely to be MBA's with a large stack of files under their arms. Wonderful people in my experience and apparently they accomplish a lot, a succinct response to those who might think that a life of prayer and meditation leaves one out of touch with the world, or at least, *this* world.
