http://publicenemy1.blog-city.com [Fear of a White Planet] Desertification incurrs several reprocussion, the first of which is a decline in the amount of arable land for China's peasants to use, which we will describe in more detail below. Another result of desertification is a drastic increase in the frequency of dust storms in Northeastern China, Japan and the Koreas, which can be dangerous for asthmatics and the elderly - whereas before 1949 the frequency of dust storms was only 1 per 31 years, the frequency has increased to the point where there is now at least one a year in the first decade of this new millenium.
