The Green Files > Take an Off-Grid Vacation in Mexico
[sustainablog] Kevin Humphrey at Unplugged Living has started a new feature called Off-the-Grid Vacations which focuses on "...actual resorts, hotels, etc that are completely energy self-sufficient." The first subject, Mexico's Hotelito Desconocido, is now officially on my list of "dream vacations": ”Hotelito” generates it own power via solar means and thats only used for indispensable resort needs like hot water and refrigeration. At night, the rooms and restaurant are lit by hundreds of candles and luminaries light the pathways that meander throughout the property.

[Unpluggedliving.com] » Hotelito Desconocido - Off the Grid in Mexico Unplugged Living: Here’s a new feature that I’m introducing to Unplugged Living…Off-the-Grid Vacations…instead of just doing general articles on eco-travel though, I’m going to focus on actual resorts, hotels, etc that are completely energy self-sufficient. If any of you know of any cool places to vacation at or get away to for a weekend that are off-the-grid, please feel free to drop me line with their web site address.
