The “British diplomats returning from Paris had made great headway in founding their Royal Institute of International Affairs.” The Anglo-American Institute envisioned in Paris, with two branches and combined membership was not feasible, so both the British and American branches retained national membership, however, they would cooperate closely with one another.[32] They were referred to, and still are, as “Sister Institutes.”[33]

Sárkozy, Zapatero, Brown and others are just a bunch of cowards, they would prefer to hand over all the former states of the USSR just to keep the Russian oil for their countries, shame on them.

[Thought Leader] Thought Leader » Ivo Vegter » Peak Oil paranoia on path to presidency: Israel’s disastrous incursion into Lebanon, as well as Bush’s warmongering against Syria and Iran suggest the US will try to complete the puzzle. Once the US controls these three countries, it can begin shipping crude out of Israel’s ports.

[The Oil Drum - Discussions about Energy and Our Future] The Oil Drum | Georgia Conflict - Open Thread: Burying a pipeline sounds like a viable security measure--I wonder how the cost of this compares (especially where, as with BTC, the pipeline crosses fairly mountainous terrain)? I think that one of the key take-aways is that there are very viable security measures that can be taken, but that they cost money--when it comes to major infrastructure projects, project engineers don't seem to be planning for these things, financiers don't seem to be willing to pay for them until the need has been demonstrated by an attack (at which point it's too late to integrate the security measures at the most cost effective time at the initial design phases), etc.
