John Hall Congressional Blog: As everyone knows, December 30th was a day of send off for our Freshman Congressman John Hall with two major events, one in Dover, the other closer to home down in Cortland Manor which I attended with a friend of mine in the environmental movement by the name of Remy Chevalier from Connecticut, who wrote a great piece on the night that you can find here. Over all it was the kind of event one would expect for these kinds of affairs...a few interesting no shows, and a lot of people there making sure they were seen, such as Republican Mayor of Peekskill, John Testa...there's a person that needs voted out of office if ever there was one. Washington Scandal: Imagine the INTERNATIONAL PRESS ATTENTION that could be focused on Entergy's failing reactors at Indian Point if New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, Congressmen Hall and Hinchey were flanked by super models Betcee and Summer Rayne, with the entire group backed up by the likes of Pete Seeger, Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt...THAT IS FRONT PAGE NEWS, that is prime time 6:00 PM on ABC, CBS, NBC, BCC, CNN and even die hard Bush Channel FOX. In short, that group of people standing together in a unified voice could ROCK THE REACTORS, could shut down Indian Point...but, that requires them to be leaders, requires them to be socially conscious beings, requires them to stand on the side of right and justice against all odds, and if they do that, groups like Green Peace, Riverkeeper, Sierra Club and others will be right there beside them as we do what must be done, which is close Indian Point, and pull the plug on a failed industry.
