[Microsoft.weblogsinc.com] Balmer on spam at TechEd 2004 - The Unofficial Microsoft Weblog ...: Trust me, WE (the collective WE) do not want Microsoft getting into the business of saying who CAN and who CANNOT send us e-mail. Microsoft needs to provide technology to facilitate this. While the line between the two may be rather narrow, the difference is key. Microsoft needs to stay focused here…my bet is that they won’t…not because they shouldn’t…but because it’s in their best interest to have a stake in this game and customers who don’t know better, and who only want a one stop shop will give them the mandate (read justification) for the rest of us.
