[Intellections of a wandering mind] Yes, We Can!! « Intellections of a wandering mind: While youve done everything within your means to stop the port, its now time for us to get on with what Greenpeace does best. Over the next few months, we will continue the hard lobbying, the behind-the-scenes work and, when necessary, the direct confrontations that youve provided us the legitimacy and credibility to carry out.
[Tata can save the turtles] Greenpeace files legal notice seeking unconditional apology and ...: Greenpeace has been active in Orissa for several years, working to bring about solutions to the conflict between fisheries and turtle protection, protect the rights of the small fisher communities to their dwindling resources, and bring about a vision of sustainable development that does not jeopardize the environmental sustainability of the state, or the livelihoods of those that depend directly on the environment. This work has seen the organization consistently confront powerful adversaries, as it has pressured the state government to take action on various issues, and also opposed some industrial projects, most notably the Dhamra port (promoted by TATA Steel and L&T), for their environmental and livelihood impacts.

Frankly, I’m not hugely optimistic for the turtles.
