[After Gutenberg] In the WordChanging post Jamais Cascio rhetorically asks whether a gas-optional hybrid that recharges from the grid when parked at home is really better than a standard hybrid when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions? While the advent of hybrids is commendable since they seem to be fostering a greater preference for electric vehicles over ones that solely rely upon internal combustion engines, as environmentalists are quick to point out, they are other than ZEV (zero emission vehicles).
