[Mobilization for Climate Justice] Tzeporah Berman has been a pioneer of the collaborative approach. As founder of ForestEthics, she drew the ire of BC environmentalists and natives for eliminating public oversight from negotiations around the Great Bear Rainforest, giving the go-ahead to a plan to log 70% of the pristine forest.

[Greenhoof] Greenhoof » Blog Archive » Cannibalizing Environmentalism ...: So Stainsby, whose lifetime success in protecting the environment is a well-kept secret, is welcomed to savage Tzeporah Berman, who when she wasn’t getting arrested for organizing blockades or everything from logging operations to coal-fird power plants, has “worked behind closed doors without permission from other environmental groups.” (Free speech is such a nuisance in other people’s mouths.) Stainsby is further allowed to imagine a national campaign of outrage against Berman’s appointment –
[Mostly Water - "Canadian" and International alternative news] A Push to Save Greenpeace | Mostly Water: "Greenpeace's original approach was confronting corporations and governments at the scenes of their crimes," said savegreenpeace.org co-creator Macdonald Stainsby. "That approach has softened lately, but if they hire Tzeporah Berman, they'll be on the fast track to corporate collaboration, beyond the point of no return," he said.

When one of the Sea Shepherd crew questioned the contradictions and said that Sea Shepherd ships served only vegan meals, the cook on the Esperanza said, “That’s just silly.” Greenpeace has a reputation built on the hard work and ideas of people like Paul Watson, Robert Hunter, Bobbi Hunter, Al Johnson, Dr.

[ZeroCarbonCanada.ca] ZeroCarbonCanada.ca » Blog Archive » Backlash Against the Green ...: Ken, First of all there is no connection btw turbines in Toba or Bute and drinking water. You are right we face increasing global conflicts over drinking water (see the work of Thomas Homer-Dixon on environmental collapse and increased conflict) however, BCs energy plan doesnt give away drinking water rights. or water rights ”forever. I think we need to take a page from Monbiot here and ensure more rigour in the analysis. thats part of why I am engaging in this debate because there is so much misinformation out there about the tenures/leases to IPPs. IPPs get a tenure for a specific period to create a project on a river (not unlike logging tenures on public land that no one calls ”privitization of forests by the way). In addition the IPPs have a requirement that they maintain the water flow. The technology doesnt allow for containment dams.
[TheTyee.ca] The Tyee ” BC's Eco-Activist 'Rock Star': The spin is nauseating, only 380,000 Hectares of new land has been or will be protected and most of it is less threatened, less biologically important and less valuable to the timber industry the other 1.8 million hectares is park land that has been protected for years.Logging will not be reduced ,millions of hectares of rare ancient Inland Rainforest with dozens of endangered species will be lost forever.Bad deal
