Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

Falling Sky[Falling Sky] Ocarinas By Moonlight: It's an incredibly evocative film for me - even though it depicts a country on the other side of the world, it reminds me of growing up in the Shire a hell of a lot. The peace, looking at fields under a full moon, the strength of the rain and wind, the joy of exploring, the feeling of grass and bark and mud and water, strange animals and discoveries, a huge sky. The backgrounds for this film, as shown above, do a tremendous job, at points rich in Turneresque sunsets, at others almost monochromatic in the darkness, while still more revel in lush greens, capturing a fertile and healthy ecosystem happily coexisting with humans.

[Tomgriffin.typepad.com] The Green Ribbon: The Green Ribbon has made it in at 60, jointly with Troubled Diva himself, and just ahead of the Guardian newsblog. Thanks to everyone who has linked to the blog. I suppose I had better get posting.

Daily.greencine.com[Daily.greencine.com] GreenCine Daily: Miyazaki most certainly does not bore him. Of his "most creative period" in the 80s and early 90s, for example, Neuhouser writes, "Particularly of note is the wonderful Kiki's Delivery Service - it seems to be a simple (though charming) coming of age story on first glance, but the attention paid to the relationships between the young and the old, and the rural and the urban are strongly reminiscent of Ozu." But with Howl's, he fears that what we have here "represents a serious stagnation." Perhaps his most interesting and even cautiously hopeful points come when he explains why "Ghibli doesn't have to go down like this."

[Blog.chris.de] muesli's Blog: Then again, it can always happen that a tube station is suddenly closed down for construction work over the weekend. Which is probably okay, if you keep in mind that 2.7 million passengers are transported daily with the London Underground tube only. Operating and administrating the tube lines costs 250.000 Pounds (370.000 Euros) per day.
