[Millard Fillmore's Bathtub] Society, we kick off a debate concerning one of the main conclusions of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the UN body which, together with Al Gore, recently won the Nobel Prize for its work concerning climate change research. There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for the global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.

[co2sceptics - News Blog] My Position on Climate Change By Hendrik Tennekes: It is likely that global temperatures will rise a little, much as IPCC predicts, but there is a growing body of evidence that the errant behavior of the Sun may cause some cooling in the foreseeable future.
[Free Frank Warner] With mixed signals, American Physical Society opens debate on ...: There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC [the U.N.s International Panel on Climate Change] conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for the global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution. Since the correctness or fallacy of that conclusion has immense implications for public policy and for the future of the biosphere, we thought it appropriate to present a debate within the pages of P&S concerning that conclusion.

[Ron Paul Forums] The UN climate change numbers hoax: An example of rampant misrepresentation of IPCC reports is the frequent assertion that “hundreds of IPCC scientists” are known to support the following statement, arguably the most important of the WG I report, namely “Greenhouse gas forcing has very likely caused most of the observed global warming over the last 50 years”.

[Digg / Environment / upcoming] The debate is on again!: With this issue of Physics & Society, we kick off a debate concerning one of the main conclusions of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) .There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily...
[Big Lizards] Cheney vs. the EPA: the Sound of One Wing Flapping: The IPCC itself has smeared the reputations of "climate-change deniers," tried to interfere with their funding, and even advocated criminally prosecuting scientists whose research leads them to dissent from global-warming orthodoxy, and any politician who votes against the IPCC's orders. Climate absolutists suggest such charges as "intergenerational crimes" and "high crimes against humanity and nature." We've scheduled a post to be published here on Tuesday that will detail this new tactic for promoting "scientific consensus."

[The Fallacy Of Global Warming] The Sanctity of Climate Models: Others, such as Roger Pielke Jr. on his Prometheus blog, focused more on what the Thompson et al. correction could mean for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changes (IPCC) recent attribution statement that “Most of the observed ...

[Climate Science: Roger Pielke Sr. Research Group News] Guest Weblog by Hendrik Tennekes: A Revolution in Climate Prediction?: The hoped-for revolution in climate modeling can be achieved only if the Grand Strategy of climate research focuses no longer on improving predictive skills as such, but on the development of experimental and theoretical tools for the scientific assessment of predictive skills. The assumption that massive escalation of computer power will substantially expand the prediction horizon or the understanding of predictive skills is not supported by any evidence I am aware of.

[Tribe.net: Year 2012] Global Warming Movement Turns Cool: There are 2500 members in the IPCC divided between 600 in Working Group I (WGI), who examine the actual climate science, and 1900 in working Groups II and III (WG II and III), who study “Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability” and “Mitigation of Climate Change” respectively. Of the 600 in WGI, 308 were independent reviewers, but only 32 reviewers commented on more than three chapters and only five reviewers commented on all 11 chapters of the report.

[Techfun] But Mommmm”¦: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom: "Climate change is accelerating faster than was projected by the IPCC and we need to take serious action NOW to address green house gas emissions if we want to have any chance to slow down and reverse changes that will hurt us all economically, agriculturally, and medically."
