[My mindless mind mindlessly minding] Not content with the progress of the Climate Change indoctrination, the Powers that Be are once again pondering how to market the ‘tax everything that farts’ solution. The science may have been faulty but the money-merry-go-round crew have invested too much time and effort into this wealth redistribution program to call quits now.

Does Cameron realise how provocative it is to a large swathe of his supporters to offer a referendum on AV after reneging on his promise of one on the Lisbon Treaty?

[TheTyee.ca] The Tyee ” The Degrowth Movement Is Growing: In opening the summit, Morales put the issue in stark terms: "Either capitalism dies or Mother Earth dies." Morales and other Bolivian leaders insist on the need for a new model of development that prioritizes vivir bien, living well, rather than focusing on the accumulation of material wealth and consumption.
[My mindless mind mindlessly minding] Nick Clegg | Part of the problem: The British National Party highlight the concerns of the nationalist which Clegg deems “evil”, yet same Nick thinks it’s fine and dandy for the Liberal Democrats to play identity politics when trying to shore up votes from BME groups. And what better way to please a predominantly asian audience on BBC Asian Network
[Discover Magazine | rsslist] Attacks on Climate Science Now “Completely Out of Hand” | The ...: If it drifts into other areas I tend to get more actively involved (economics, philosophy and political science are areas I studied in great depth and still do work in - theology isnt something Im willing to get into with friends who constantly pester me about such unless they are willing to do an incredible amount of reading before we even begin…), but this isnt really the place for all that and there have been few such discussions in here that managed to not end up in mud wrestling…
[Richard Black's Earth Watch] BBC - Richard Black's Earth Watch: Comeback for climate cautions ...: Evidence for this carbon release is found in sedimentary records across the event. This includes a rapid and pronounced decrease in the 13C/12C ratio of carbonate and organic carbon across the globe (that is, a negative carbon isotope excursion) and a prominent drop in the carbonate content of marine sediment deposited at several thousands of metres water depth (that is, a deep-sea dissolution horizon).
[Reason Magazine Full Feed] He Ain't Beanbag, But He's My Friedman! - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine: Well he's not successful and truth be told barely a columnist.Really little more than an idiot child who got hold of a thesaurus(and really, you Chron editors should have a gun safe to lock thethings up when he's around so as to end his torture of the Englishlanguage) but since he gets paid I nominate:

[Big Government] » Sorry Big Labor: Teaching Kids Union History Propaganda Won't ...: In California we see the uber-Rich and their Republican minions prevent raising tax revenue to support education (or infant health care for that matter) through fair taxation by the two-thirds stranglehold required to pass legislation. Thus a greedy minority is bent on destroying our society, here and nationwide so they can buy a third vacation home, upgrade their private jetliner, put gold fixtures on their 120-foot yacht at Marina del Rey and hunker down in their gated communities to chortle and sneer at the growing despair among the peasantry.

[A Few Things Ill Considered] How to Talk to a Climate Sceptic : A Few Things Ill Considered: Im from Sri Lanka and im 16 years old.Ill be participating in a debate on the the 5th of September and the topic for the debate is "the inconvenient truth is that there is nothing we can do about global warming so quit trying".Ive decided to oppose the topic. If it's no trouble could you point out what sort of arguments the Proposition could come up with.(so far im guessing they would take the anti AGW standpoint and say that its all natural so lets quit trying). What ive thought of doing is approaching this issue by first substantiating the AGW theory and then saying "even if, for arguments sake" AGW theory is wrong does this mean we cant do anything about global warming and quit trying natural or man made because at the end of the day it is still harmful. And of course i will be asking the legitimate question of "at what point do you say that we cant do anything about global warming?" but do you think the proposition would likely go with an anti AGW argument or come up with something else? if you think they are what kind of tips could you give me?
[NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias] Global Warming Lawsuits Impacting Climate Change Debate ...: and "was the sixth-strongest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded". If the defendant's CO2 emissions caused global warming, warming of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and this warmer water caused hurricanes such as Katrina, then in 2006 and 2007 we should have had more such hurricanes such as Katrina. But we have not. Moreover, the five other stronger hurricanes formed years ago, long before the CO2 emissions of the defendants. So, Katrina looks like just nature at work. As we know, nature is variable.
