The Green Files > British climate change denialism (3)

lunartalkshttp://lunartalks.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/british-climate-change-denialism-3-2/ [lunartalks] So what?  A ten-year interval means nothing in statistical terms, except that it’s a convenient period where the data fits AGW deniers ideas, in fact it’s their current poster child.  El Nino causes a temporary warming in world temperatures, La Nina depresses.  If on average a weak El Nino causes little warming (the last one was piddly), and  as has happened this year a prolonged La Nina depresses it, that says nothing to the causes of climate change.  These phenomena are, as the report’s author said in a bit not reported Mr Dale’s Diary (excellent on politics, C3 on climate science) ‘variability’. If I may be allowed a bit of bold-rage of my own:

Ducky Paredes[Ducky Paredes] On The Rice Crisis: There are a myriad things that we can blame for the decreased availability and the higher prices of food staples: Climate change, resulting in decreased food production even as the world’s population continually increases, faster-growing economies in India, Korea and China, conversion of food sources such as rice, wheat, corn and so on to biofuels, the high cost of oil. We will never want for things to blame.
