[Democracyctr.org] Blog from Bolivia: The US Ambassador at the time took square aim at Evo Morales as the USs chief Bolivian political enemy. To implement that view the US Ambassador publicly threatened Bolivians with a cutoff of aid if they voted for Morales, an announcement that single-handedly skyrocketed his support in the polls and put him within two points of finishing first. One would suppose that the US interest in Bolivia right now is promoting stability.
[Downtheroad.org] Daily Journal Travel Writing, Blog, Travelogue: We had breakfast on the train, it was included with our ticket. We retrieved our bikes from baggage and set off looking for a hotel. I was feeling awful, I thought it was because I did not get much sleep on train. We decided to stay at Hostel Buena Vista, just down the road from the train station, it has a nice big room, shared hot shower, and is 50 bolivianos per night.

Bolivians I have spoken with are fed-up with President Mesa. They are tired of the constant conflicts between the social movements and government, and the consequential road blockades (a form of protest) that paralyze the country.
