[Ecofriend] The classrooms cover an area of 1,280 square feet and save about 75% energy due to the incorporation of features like natural lighting, glare control, operable windows, no-VOC and the use of 100% recycled materials in construction. Though the designs on display were with FSC-certified cladding and a green roof, the company is offering other cladding and roof options as well, which might not be as green as the ones that were on display.

[Energy Bulletin -] U.S. fuel demand fell 5.2 percent in the first 10 months of this year, the biggest drop since 1981, the American Petroleum Institute said. Deliveries of petroleum products, a measure of consumption, averaged 19.6 million barrels a day in the period, down from 20.7 million barrels a day a year earlier.

[Climate Change Fraud news] It’s not at all the most important greenhouse gas, and greenhouse gases themselves, and the ‘greenhouse effect’, form only one small part of the earth’s climate system (and not a very well understood part either). There is no correlation between CO2 and temperature on any significant timescale, except where you find, in ice core data, CO2 levels being influenced by temperature levels (there’s a time lag between the two phenomena).

[A Western Heart] The prediction of a prominent marine biologist that climate change could render the Great Barrier Reef extinct within 30 years has been labelled overly pessimistic for failing to account for the adaptive capabilities of coral reefs. University of Queensland marine biologist Ove Hoegh-Guldberg said yesterday that sea temperatures were likely to rise 2C over the next three decades, which would undoubtedly kill the reef.
