[The Volokh Conspiracy] If like most scientists believe, climate change is driven by man, then the argument for serious cuts in CO2 emissions would have more heft and would be understood as a causal means of reducing global warming that should not be occurring. If as Palin suggests, we're actually seeing warming that is due in part or large part to 'natural cycles' or some other hypothesis, then it might actually be counterproductive to have emission caps at certain levels and other policies to limit CO2 emission with respect to the ability to reduce rising temperatures versus negative economic impacts.
