After 2020, each heavily industrialized developing country would be required to freeze its cap at its currently projected 2020 emissions level.

Moreover, looking beyond U.S. borders, these economic effects are likely to be more challenging for less advanced economies in Africa and Asia, due to their heavier reliance on resource-based economic activity (especially agriculture), more limited economic infrastructure, and lower incomes, all of which intensify the severity of the economic tradeoffs involved (Dell, Jones, and Olken 2008).

But because we're crazy, the added stress will almost certainly cause lots of conflicts and war, which will in turn diminish our ability to cooperate on a large scale, which will in turn cause more conflict, etc.

Leading Automaker Toyota Motor Europe Joins UNEP's Climate Neutral ...

[United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)] Toyota Motor Europe has already cut average energy consumption per-vehicle in the production process by 44 per cent since 2001. The company's Five-Year Environmental Action Plan calls for further cuts in energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and all of its logistics partners now have to report their CO2 emissions in accordance with Toyota's Green Purchasing Guidelines.
